威廉一个. Crawford Minority Teacher Scholarship

The 印第安纳州 Legislation created the Minority Teacher Scholarship Program to address the critical shortage of minorities (defined as Black and Hispanic students in the statute) in the teaching field.

资格

Student must:

• Be a minority student (defined as Black or Hispanic per IC 21-13-6) seeking a teaching certification. For details on teaching licensure, visit the Bayh College of Education;
• Be an 印第安纳州 resident and a U.S. 公民或 eligible non-citizen;
• Have completed an application in ScholarTrack;
• Be admitted to an eligible institution as a full-time student (12 credits or more) or already attending as a full-time student;
• Be pursuing or intending to pursue a course of study that would enable the student, upon graduation, to teach in an accredited school in 印第安纳州;
• Have submitted a valid Free Application for Federal Student 援助 (FAFSA).  印第安纳州 State University (school code is 001807) must be listed on the students FAFSA;
• Not be in default on a state or federally-funded student loan or have an overpayment on a federal grant.

Minority students demonstrating financial need may receive up to $4,000 annually. 学生 who do not show financial need are eligible for up to $1,000.

• Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA; and
• Complete a 威廉一个. Crawford Minority Teacher Scholarship application each year in ScholarTrack.

• Pursue a program which leads to a teaching degree; and
• Agree to apply for a teaching position in an accredited school in 印第安纳州 following the student's certification as a teacher, 如果被录用, to teach for at least three (3) years.
